Its hard to believe that cars have not always been around, menacing the roads and sending chaos and fear throughout our communities and city streets. But there was once a time when..gasp...the car did not exist. Where were teenage boys supposed to try to score with the ladies? How did men with very small sexual organs make up for it if there were no flashy little sports cars to drive? What did men who were born to be used car salesmen do for a living before they had used cars to sell?
Well, thank God the Automobile came along and solved many of these important problems and more. And of course, with the automobile came the auto accident.
Happy 116 Birthday Auto Accidents, you do not look a day over 100!

FORMER PADRE NO. 1 PICK ARRESTED ON 7 FELONY COUNTS AFTER DUI HIT AND RUN OF MOTORCYCLIST
One thing we can all say with pride about San Diego Sports, is when we pick a dud, we go BIG. Former No. 1 pick Pitcher Matt Bush, who never played one Major League Game, was arrested for his 3rd DUI yesterday (after being involved in 3 accidents in the same day) when he smashed his car into a motorcyclist, who was so badly injured he remains in a coma.
Apparently, Mr. Bush is "Penniless" and only is worth approximately $2,000 dollars after the Padres paid him millions of guaranteed dollars-so do not expect a major civil suit for damages when his victims wakes up from his coma. Bush, who has had several run-ins with the police, often filmed while crying hysterically like a little girl with a skinned knee is obviously unstable and needs serious psychological attention. No wonder a San Diego sports franchise picked him No. 1...he fits the profile.
Bush's Lawyer petitioned the court to have his client enter rehab instead of jail. However the rumor was you could hear the Judge actually laughing in the courthouse lobby as that motion was flatly denied.
This final episode of the "Big Time Sports Prospect Shits the Bed in San Diego" begs the questions: who picks theses losers to represent our city?
Even our beloved sports figures turn out to have serious problems behind closed doors as evidenced by the recent suicide of former Charger Junior Seau.
Who knows, maybe all things considered "Cryin" Ryan Leaf maybe got a bad rap. On second thought...

DOCTORS COVERING UP BIRTH INJURIES CAUSED BY THEIR OWN NEGLIGENCE...SAY IT AIN'T SO
There is arguably nothing as special a birth of a
baby-easily one of the most important and magical times in a person's your life. Your child's birth is certainly not a time for anxiety and fear. However, many new parents are faced with the horrible prospects of their child suffer long-term physical, emotional and financial effects of an injury caused by a negligent doctor during the delivery procedure. To make matters worse, Health Care Providers and Hospitals routinely attempt to cover up their own liability in the child's damages, in an attempt to keep their Insurance premiums low. A more shameful scenario is hard to conceive. San Diego Birth Injury Attorneys are very important to force the offending party to accept liability and be held accountable.
Of course many births involve minor abrasions or bumps. However, extremely serious injuries to the newborn are often the result of a negligent act or omission by the Health Care Professionals preforming the delivery. A newborn's extreme physical impairment and developmental issues can
leave the new parent facing a lifetime of dealing with their child’s new reality caused by needless medical negligence.
The worst part of it is that these types of birth injuries are unfortunately substantially more common than what you may
think. Many developmental issues, learning
disabilities and other serious problems are the result of simple negligence
that was covered up by the doctors and nurses who performed the delivery.
Birth
injuries like brain damage due to a lack of oxygen because of the umbilical
cord wrapping around the child’s head, cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injures
and many more sever health issues are often caused by the negligence of the
doctors and a subsequent cover-up and do not become evident until later in the child's life.
The Law Office of Andrew Stewart is experienced in prosecuting claims for birth injuries
and subsequent attempts to cover up the negligence that causes a baby to undergo a
lifetime of needless suffering. We understand the incredible heartache and
stress you will be forced to endure and we will fight to secure the financial support
your injured child needs to deal with the horrible affliction.
MEDICAL MALPRACTICE DURING THE LABOR AND DELIVERY PROCESS
Obviously, the medical goal of the birthing process is for a healthy child being delivered without any injury to the
mother. However, even in this modern
era, 7 out of every 1000 deliveries involve a serous births injury caused by
the preventable negligence of the Health Care Professionals involved in the
procedure. In reality, that number is deemed very conservative given the high
rate of birth injury cover-ups, which are a standard procedure at some
hospitals, especially in the rural south.
Common preventable negligence during labor and delivery
include:
-Excessive
force to free a newborn’s shoulder that may be temporarily trapped under the
mother’s pubic bone
-Failure to
preform a Caesarian procedure when the medical conditions for a vaginal delivery
are not present
-Misuse of
vacuums, forceps or other delivery instruments
-Failure to
properly identify and treat a detached placenta
-Communication
issues among the Health Care Professionals during the delivery
COMMON
BIRTH INJURIES DUE TO DELIVERY NEGLIGENCE
There are
many injuries a baby can suffer at the hands of a negligent doctor. These may
include:
-KLUMPKE’S
PALSY- Klumpke's Palsy affects the baby’s arms, wrists and hand. Is commonly referred to “Claw
hand syndrome.”
-ERB’S
PALSY- A form of Brachial Plexus Injury, Erb’s Palsy, causes severe damage to
the babies upper extremities, causing their arms and hands to become atrophied
and weak, often resulting in full blown paralysis.
-HORNER’S SYNDROM- Another form of Brachial Plexus Injury,
Horner’s Syndrome causes severe vision problems. Usually there is a loss of
eyelid control, lack of proper pupil to light reaction and the eyes to have an
overall sunken in appearance.
-BROKEN BONES and NERVE DAMAGE- Excessive force during
deliver can easily fracture a newborn’s weak bone structure, with broken collarbones
the most typical seen.
-HYPOXIC ISCHEMIC ENCEPHALOPATHY- Brain damage caused by too
little oxygen delivered to the baby’s brain during the delivery. This usually causes
severe brain damage and subsequent retardation.
-CEREBRAL
PALSY- This horrible affliction is one of the worst, and most common birth
injuries and is caused by a lack of oxygen to the baby during delivery.
Cerebral Palsy is a collective term for a wide variety of musculature
impairments and overall motor skill control. 1 out of every 1000 babies suffers
from Cerebral Palsy due to doctor negligence in the United States. The child
faces a long life of increased difficulty moving until they are ultimately
fully paralyzed. Again, this tragedy is easily avoidable by simple monitoring
of the baby’s oxygen levels.
If your child has suffered from any type of injury during
birth, do not count on the doctor being 100% honest with you regarding what
caused the injury or what the long-term effects will be. Contact the Law Office of Andrew Stewart to secure the finances you will need to care for your child
and to hold the negligent Health Care providers accountable for their actions.
It is time to hold these Heath Care Providers accountable. Call today. 888.959.5963

INJURY CAUSING AUTO COLLISION IN SAN DIEGO CAUSED BY REALTY TV STAR WHO WAS DUI ATTORNEYS REPORT
Many of us remember the eccentric, scuzzy yet charismatic
Real World San Francisco Star David “Puck” Rainey for his on and off screen
antics (and many of us do but wont admit it). Well- it appears he is at it again.
On March 24, 2012 Mr. Rainey was
arrested for felony driving under the influence after an accident on
California’s Route 79 in San Diego, California.
In addition to himself, Rainey’s son was also badly injured
in the auto accident. Rainey alleged to the California Highway Patrol that
investigated the accident that he was on a fishing trip with his 8 year old son
when he was forced to swerve his car to avoid hitting a deer that had wandered
into the road. As a result of the
violent defensive swerve, Rainey’s rolled down a steep embankment finally
ending slammed upside down against a tree in a stream bed.
Rainey was transported via ambulance to a trauma center
where he was examined and diagnosed with severe injuries including fractures in
his feet, neck, hand, sternum and clavicle. An unidentified California Highway
Patrolman stated that they are highly skeptical that a deer caused the injury
accident.
Rainey was allegedly past the legal alcohol limit and had
prescription medications in his system. The extent of the injury to Rainey’s
young son has been kept confidential but are said to be extensive.
Unfortunately, many accidents that cause severe injuries
like the ones that happened to Rainey and his son are directly caused by
driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Rainey has been booked on DUI and child endangerment charges
in San Diego Criminal Court. For those of us that remember, “Puck” it is almost
of no surprise that this type of conduct is still occurring, as he has publicly
admitted to battling substance abuse issues in the past. However, the fact that
he would put his son in such a dangerous situation is quite troubling.
Two Auto Accidents Caused by Drunk Orange County Sheriff in less than one half of an hour
Sheriff’s Deputy Allan Waters crashed his Mercedes Benz at
approximately 4:45 pm on March 12, 2012 in Dana Point, California. However, the
Deputy was not arrested or cited for DUI, but was allowed to simply drive away
from the scene despite injuring an unidentified motorist.
Less than one half of an hour later, Deputy Waters’ car
collided with a Land Rover in Laguna Nigel, injuring the 78-year-old
unidentified driver. Apparently, Deputy Waters’ was so impaired that his
Mercedes jumped the center median lane divider and collided with the Land Rover
causing the second injury in only a short amount of time.
Obviously, this story is extremely troubling as it appears
that Deputy Waters’ was well over the BAC level in the first accident he was
involved in, yet he was allowed to simply drive away. This favorable treatment
then caused him to crash the second time, causing another innocent traveler to
be injured.
The Orange County Sheriffs’ Department is conducting an
investigation as to why he was allowed to simply drive away from the scene of
his first injury causing DUI accident. Deputy
Waters has been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation is
being conducted. I hope he enjoys his free vacation paid for by the taxpayers
of California. This begs the question, if drunken law enforcement officers
(driving new Mercedes-Benz automobiles?!?) are allowed to operate above the
law, how can they be trusted to enforce the law.
A large civil lawsuit is expected against the deputy and the
Sheriffs department. Lets hope they learn their lesson that they are not above
the rule of law.
