San Diego Auto Accident Attorneys stress the importance of obtaining UIM Insurance Cocerage

UIM insurance is where insurance coverage that you can add to your policy for around $35 per year and it covers you when the car with the drunk driver who is speeding through the red light and smashes into your car has no insurance to cover your $200,000 medical bills.  It kicks in (UIM stands for uninsured motorist coverage) and pays for everything as if the drunk driver did have valid insurance. This is the single most important thing you can do to protect yourself and your family from totally financial disaster.  Do yourselves as favor, and throw down the $35. You will be glad you did. DUI Arrests and Fatal Accidents Down Significantly in San DIego over Memorial Day Holiday, unlike rest of California

San Diego County had 25 fewer DUI arrests and approximately 60 fewer alcohol related conduct arrests over the infamous Memorial Day Holiday, where San Diego usually leads the charge. Every other major county in California experienced a significant spike in DUI arrests and fatal auto accidents over the same time period. This drop was despite an elevated police presence because of current economic conditions, property values are down and so the municipality is attempting to raise money. And we all know that DUIs are BIG money.

Could this mean good things to come this summer, as Memorial Day is the unofficial first day of summer...only time will tell but this Attorney has his fingers crossed. Read full STORY HERE.

Self-Driving Cars May Eraddicate Auto Accidnet Injureis and Fatalities.

Welcome to the future Mr. Jetson-your self-driving car is waiting. Believe it or not, technology and auto engineering has reached a point where self-driving cars will be a reality in a matter of years, not decades.

The benefits of the self-driving cars are readily apparent; almost all auto accident injuries and deaths would be eradicated because the overwhelming majority of auto accident are caused by human error and simple negligence. Traffic would clear up as the driving lanes would become more efficient as the cars "communicated" their destinations and intent to change lanes, etc. to each other. People would be able to relax and let the car take on all the stress that driving brings with it.

Conversely, many of us love to drive. It may be very hard to get the general population to give up manually driving. It would be..well... un-American. Ironically, they said the same thing when the original automobiles were introduced into the free market. Back then, people would laugh at you if you told them they would give up there beloved horses and buggies in exchange for the big, expensive new automobiles.

Interestingly, we are about to see the roll-out of the self-driving car. Read the full STORY HERE.

The Auto Accident Turns 116 Years Old Today. Did You Remember To Send A Card?

Its hard to believe that cars have not always been around, menacing the roads and sending chaos and fear throughout our communities and city streets. But there was once a time when..gasp...the car did not exist. Where were teenage boys supposed to try to score with the ladies?  How did men with very small sexual organs make up for it if there were no flashy little sports cars to drive? What did men who were born to be used car salesmen do for a living before they had used cars to sell?

Well, thank God the Automobile came along and solved many of these important problems and more. And of course, with the automobile came the auto accident.

Happy 116 Birthday Auto Accidents, you do not look a day over 100!

FORMER PADRE NO. 1 PICK ARRESTED ON 7 FELONY COUNTS AFTER DUI HIT AND RUN OF MOTORCYCLIST

One thing we can all say with pride about San Diego Sports, is when we pick a dud, we go BIG. Former No. 1 pick Pitcher Matt Bush, who never played one Major League Game, was arrested for his 3rd DUI yesterday (after being involved in 3 accidents in the same day) when he smashed his car into a motorcyclist, who was so badly injured he remains in a coma.

Apparently, Mr. Bush is "Penniless" and only is worth approximately $2,000 dollars after the Padres paid him millions of guaranteed dollars-so do not expect a major civil suit for damages when his victims wakes up from his coma. Bush, who has had several run-ins with the police, often filmed while crying hysterically like a little girl with a skinned knee is obviously unstable and needs serious psychological attention. No wonder a San Diego sports franchise picked him No. 1...he fits the profile.

Bush's Lawyer petitioned the court to have his client enter rehab instead of jail. However the rumor was you could hear the Judge actually laughing in the courthouse lobby as that motion was flatly denied.

This final episode of the "Big Time Sports Prospect Shits the Bed in San Diego" begs the questions: who picks theses losers to represent our city?

Even our beloved sports figures turn out to have serious problems behind closed doors as evidenced by the recent suicide of former Charger Junior Seau.

Who knows, maybe all things considered "Cryin" Ryan Leaf maybe got a bad rap. On second thought...
